Route Icons

This article describes the meaning of the different route icons in Easy Rides.

In the image below, we can see the various indicators.  Below is more detail on each.

The TEST route is out of service and not logged into a mobile unit. The DAR City route is in revenue service and logged into the mobile unit, but there has not been any recent data connections with the mobile unit. The DAR East Fishkill route is out of service, but the driver is still logged in to the app on the mobile device.  The vehicle is also showing as in non-revenue service so it might be in use on another route as well.DAR Northtown shows in revenue service with recent communications, is connected to the vehicle's odometer via Bluetooth, but the AVL data is stale.

Mobile Status (the icon on the left side of the route header)

  No Tower

Not logged into a mobile unit (No Tablet/MDT).

Radio tower

Logged in to a mobile unit (Tablet/MDT).

Waves coming from the radio tower

Recent data communications between the mobile unit and the server.  All communications are currently normal.  If there are no radio waves coming from the top of the tower, it could indicate that the tablet may not have an internet connection or that the tablet is in sleep mode.  Changes to the manifest may not be seen by the driver while no radio waves are present.

  Radio tower with blue background

Tablet connected to vehicle odometer via Bluetooth.

  Yellow block under radio tower

Stale AVL data.  Vehicle may not be moving, location permissions not enabled for app, bad satellite coverage or other problem with GPS.

Route Status (the main portion of the route header)

Grey

Out of Service.  Off the clock (unpaid lunch break, between shifts and before and after shift).

Yellow

Non Revenue Service (or Dead Head).  Usually before the first pickup of the day, paid breaks and after the last delivery of the day.

White

Revenue Service.

Red Border

Route Warning.  It could be that the route is not in service during the scheduled hours, or there is a seating capacity warning such as not enough wheelchair spots available for the scheduled trips.
