Missing Trips or No Notifications

Problem

Trips are not showing on the schedule board for some users (or all users).  Trips appear and then disappear without user action.  Drivers do not get notifications on tablet or MDT when changes are made by dispatch.  Timestamps are off on trips or service logs.

The times in Easy Rides comes from the various clocks.  Your workstation (or remote workstation) is the clock that your Easy Rides uses.  The server's clock is the one that the database uses and the mobile device clock is the one the tablets use.  They must all be in sync and read the exact same time or your system will exhibit strange behavior with trip tickets, notifications, etc.

Solution

You can use your phone to view the current correct time and compare that to your computer and the clock in Easy Rides at the top of the screen which displays the server's time.

If the time between your workstation and server is off by more than 30 seconds you should see a warning about the clock difference when you start Easy Rides and the server time will be shaded with red background and black text.  With some versions of Easy Rides  you can attempt to adjust your workstation clock to match the server (if your workstation is the one that's not accurate) by double clicking on the red clock/time in Easy Rides, but depending on your version of Easy Rides, your computer permissions or settings it may not be able to.

If the time zone on the workstation and server is also important.  You can set the timezone for the database in the Easy Rides Utility by going to the Global Options menu then Configuration.  If the local time zone has "Standard Time" on the end (such as "Pacific Standard Time" as shown below) then you'll need to change it to the version of your timezone that does not have "Standard Time" or "Daylight Time" in the name.  This ensures that the time setting will update properly with Daylight Savings Time changes according to your time zone.

Incorrect Time Zone Pacific Standard

Incorrect Timezone set to Pacific Standard Time

Correct Timezone set to US/Pacific will change accordingly with daylight savings time changes

Please have your IT check the time settings on the server, the tablets or MDTs and your workstations or remote environments to ensure they are all set to get automatic time updates.
